Athleticism is a crucial component of the modern game. Taking into account each player’s uniqueness, for example training history, body composition, etc., Peak Performance is committed to take every player towards realizing performance potential. This is achieved by creating a competitive training environment with quality, consistent and relevant training hours. Peak Performance training focus will be on developing position specific game skills and understanding and continued improvements made to the different facets of speed, functional strength, explosive power, cognitive speed, joint and muscle flexibility & efficient movement mechanics.

2014-2015 Winter Schedule & Registration

 1. FULL WINTER PEAK PERFORMANCE | Dec. 1-Jan. 24 | $300* | REGISTER NOW
The Winter Peak Performance Program U12-U17 is designed to give Classic and Challenge players the opportunity to train and play through the winter in a competitive performance driven environment. The program will be approximately 8 weeks long that will educate, assess and enhance each players' athletic potential and game conditioning along with provide competitive Futsal games on Saturdays. Please see the appropriate age and gender for training days and times.

Who: U12-U17 Boys & Girls
When: December 1- Jan. 24 
Training 3x a week (Futsal on Saturdays included)
Where: WRAL Soccer Park Fitness Center & Ravenscroft School

Focus of Sessions:
-Comprehensive Performance assessment in all of the key athletic areas of the game
-Teach players how to perform safe and effective soccer-specific strength development techniques
-Develop soccer specific endurance
-Develop explosiveness, muscle power, and etc 
-Develop key facets of speed: acceleration, reactive, control, endurance and agility

*Red U13-U18 boys teams have the option of playing in a Futsal League at SportHQ with the Capital Area RailHawk Academy Players. If these players choose this option they will not participate in Futsal on Saturdays at Ravenscroft and the price will be reduced to $225. Contact John Bradford for more information.

2. ABBREVIATED WINTER PEAK PERFORMANCE | Dec. 1-Jan. 24 | $225 | REGISTER NOW
This is the exact same program as the Full Winter Peak Performance Program except players just train once during the week and Futsal on Saturdays. Players can choose which weekday session they want to attend. Please see the appropriate age and gender for training days and times above.

3. CHALLENGE WINTER PEAK PERFORMANCE | Dec. 1-Jan. 24 | $150 | REGISTER NOW 

The Challenge Winter Peak Performance program is a program designed for the challenge level player focusing predominately on speed and agility. 

Who: Challenge Players U12-U15
When: Saturdays Dec. 1-Jan. 24
Where: WRAL Soccer Park Fitness Center

Focus of Sessions:
-Develop players to be faster linearly as well as increase their speed while changing direction with and without the ball
-Enhance power, strength, acceleration and short sprints ( anaerobic conditioning)
- Pre and post program testing using the SMARTSPEED equipment to test speed, vertical jump, agility and endurance
-Each player will receive an individualized speed and endurance workout packet tailored to their pre-program testing results

This program is designed to help prepare high school girls for their upcoming season in a performance driven environment. The program will be an 8-week training phase that will educate, assess and enhance each player's athletic potential and game conditioning combined with competitive Futsal on Saturdays. 

 

Focus of Sessions:
-Strength: assessment and development
-Endurance:assessment and development of aerobic power
-Explosiveness: assessment and development of anaerobic power
-Speed, Strength and Power Endurance: assessment and development of anaerobic capacity
-Speed Control and Agility: assessment and development
-Individual Player Profiles: test, develop and re-test to measure speed, vertical jump, agility and endurance
-Game conditioning

Meet Richard Huxford-Peak Performance Director
Richard Huxford is passionate about player development in soccer and considers athleticism in the modern game a crucial component.  He brings a unique blend of professional playing experience, highly relevant academics, and high level coaching qualifications.  Huxford played soccer at the higher professional level in England and Scotland between 1985 and 2001, studied to M.Sc. level in the sports sciences and performance coaching domain, and holds the UEFA A license coaching qualification.  Huxford continues his professional development observing youth players and teams in the U.S., attending training courses, workshops and professional conferences.


Meet Michelle Mudge-Assistant Peak Performance Director
Michelle Mudge is a highly qualified certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her degree in Exercise and Sports Science and was a member of the  diving team for a couple seasons. Mudge has already worked with CASL when she was a research assistant for a lower extremity injury prevention study, and for the past 3 years, she has been an intern with the UNC Men’s Basketball strength and conditioning coach.
