SUMMER PEAK PERFORMANCE

CASL is offering three Peak Performance programs this summer, and each program offers something a little different whether it is location, age group, structure, or time. Sessions will focus on:
  • Strength Training
  • Speed Development and Control
  • Core Strengthening
  • Proper Functional Movement Development
  • Game Understanding & Decision Making with a CASL Classic Coach*
  • Small-Sided Game Conditioning with a CASL Classic Coach*
  • *Only available at Raleigh and Brier Creek sessions

    In addition to the sessions, all Peak Performance participants have the opportunity to attend conditioning runs at 9am on Tuesday and Thursday at North Cary Park. These runs will focus on running endurance and technique.

RALEIGH

Classic players will spend half a session with the Peak Performance Staff to improve their athleticism, and the other half with a CASL Classic coach to focus on game tactics and small-sided game conditioning.

This program is geared for rising U8-U13 CAYA & Classic players who want to improve their athleticism, coordination, speed on and off the ball and strength, power and speed technique.

Cancellation Policy

If WRAL is shut down because of rain or cold temperatures, Peak performance is still on.

If WRAL is closed due to poor driving/road conditions (ie. Ice, snow), Peak Performance is also cancelled.



What Is Peak Performance

Peak Performance is a supplementary player development program designed to augment and enhance the club training experience. Peak performance is ideal for players of all ages and skill levels and can be particularly helpful in developing each individual player proceed to high levels and teams. Peak Performance offered a unique way of training young solver players by combining professionally based soccer instruction with soccer specific athletic development.

Meet Richard Huxford-Peak Performance Director
Richard Huxford is passionate about player development in soccer and considers athleticism in the modern game a crucial component.  He brings a unique blend of professional playing experience, highly relevant academics, and high level coaching qualifications.  Huxford played soccer at the higher professional level in England and Scotland between 1985 and 2001, studied to M.Sc. level in the sports sciences and performance coaching domain, and holds the UEFA A license coaching qualification.  Huxford continues his professional development observing youth players and teams in the U.S., attending training courses, workshops and professional conferences.

 

Meet Michelle Mudge-Assistant Peak Performance Director
Michelle Mudge is a highly qualified certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her degree in Exercise and Sports Science and was a member of the  diving team for a couple seasons. Mudge has already worked with CASL when she was a research assistant for a lower extremity injury prevention study, and for the past 3 years, she has been an intern with the UNC Men’s Basketball strength and conditioning coach.
